TI Security and Automation Ltd – Warranty Policy

Effective From Date of Installation/Purchase

TI Security and Automation Ltd is proud to stand behind the quality of the products we supply. This warranty policy outlines the terms under which warranty support is provided for goods purchased directly from us.

1. Warranty Coverage

TI Security and Automation Ltd provides a two (2) year warranty on behalf of the product manufacturer for original purchasers, unless otherwise specified. This warranty:

  • Commences from the date of purchase, not the installation date.

  • Covers defects in materials and workmanship under regular use.

  • Requires that products be installed per the manufacturer’s specifications.

2. Special Coverage: Remote Controls and Batteries

  • Remote Controls: 6-month warranty.

  • Batteries (within remote controls): Additional 3-month warranty (total of 9 months).

3. Warranty Process

If a fault arises during the warranty period:

  • The purchaser must contact TI Security and Automation Ltd in writing at admin@tisecurityandautomation.co.nz before the warranty expires.

  • The faulty product must be returned to:

    99 Onetaunga Road
    Chatswood, Auckland

  • We will repair or replace the defective product.

  • Replacement or repaired items are covered for the remaining duration of the original warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer.

  • Replacement parts will be dispatched only after the original parts are received.

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure that written notification is received by us before the warranty period expires.

4. Charges for Third-Party Installations

Service calls for products installed by third parties will be charged at our standard hourly rate.

5. Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA)

This warranty operates alongside your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act, which ensures products are:

  • Of acceptable quality

  • Fit for purpose

  • As described

Please note: the CGA does not apply if you simply change your mind.

6. Exclusions from Warranty Coverage

This warranty does not cover:

  1. Damage incurred during shipping or handling.

  2. Installation or removal costs, including third-party fees.

  3. Damage caused by natural disasters (e.g., fire, flood, earthquake, lightning).

  4. Electrical faults such as power surges, short circuits, or mechanical shock.

  5. Damage from unauthorised modifications or foreign objects.

  6. Peripherals not supplied by TI Security and Automation Ltd.

  7. Moisture, insects, animals, or environmental conditions.

  8. Accidental impacts (e.g., vehicles).

  9. Inappropriate installation environments.

  10. Use of the product for unintended purposes.

  11. Poor maintenance or neglect.

  12. Abuse, mishandling, or improper application.
